Sinatra Live at the Sands is a glimpse of the genius that was Frank Sinatra at the height of his vocal powers.

Arguably the most famous and hard swinging live performance Sinatra ever made, was captured for posterity on the 1966 album.

The show is set in the ultra relaxed lounge of the legendary Copa Room at the Sands Hotel, Las Vegas. It captures the incomparable Frank Sinatra at the peak of his popularity and vocal prowess and at the point where his new approach to popular singing had reached its zenith and matured into the form that every vocalist since has been influenced by. All powered by Count Basie’s Orchestra under the musical direction of a young and ambitious Quincy Jones.

With a mixture of some of Sinatra’s most loved hits such as ‘Under My Skin,’ ‘Come Fly with Me’ and ‘My Kind of Town,’ and also some of his most exciting (but less often heard) songs like ‘Get Me to the Church on Time,’ interspersed with those famous ‘saloon’ ballads, this show highlights all the different guises this master of the popular song had at his disposal.

Add to this Quincy Jones’ reworking of Sinatra’s musical arrangements to best serve the efforts of “the most swinging band of all time” – the Count Basie Orchestra, and you have an evening of the hippest musical mastery you could ever hope to see.
